The song was originally written by Joe Burke and Al Dubin in 1930. We learned it from a recording made by Joe Venuti & His Orchestra.
Frog and Henry recorded it on July 6, 2023 in Zurich, Switzerland on a Nagra III battery operated tape recorder and a single SM58 microphone.
The mic was about 6' off the ground and 3' to the bass side of the piano and pointing away from it into the room; the guitar was in front of the mic, pointing toward the piano, and off to one side about 1.5' from the mic; the banjo was directly in front, about 6' way; the tuba was about 8' away from the mic and in front of it, slightly off to one side; the violins and horns mixed themselves for volume and presence and tone based on their position relative to the mic, being either about 1' away at the closest and 4' at the farthest; Ewan had to duck underneath the violins and time his last alto sax note so that he could end up about 1' from the mic for his vocals, and then quickly get back for the next instrumental chorus.

Ewan Bleach is brilliant, his touch, soul and aura are unique nowadays. When I listen to the album it transports me to another world, his world. Then it's hard for me to come back to reality. Really enjoyable and nice. Many thanks Ewan to produce all this music for us to enjoy it. carsebe
